3 cups water
½ sweet white onion, chopped
12 ounces grilled chicken, diced
2 tbsp olive oil
⅓ cup cashews (soak in hot water for 15-20 minutes)
½ cup nutritional yeast
2 tbsp tomato paste
¼ cup coconut cream
1 tsp garlic powder
2 tbsp turmeric
Salt and pepper to taste
Nutritional yeast is an excellent alternative for lactose intolerant or those trying to cut back on cheese intake. What is more exciting is that it contains all nine essential amino acids, making it an excellent source of protein for vegetarians and vegans.
